What I’m all about
I am a wife, mama and self-taught photographer.
Im passionate about empowering fellow moms to to see how precious and blessed their everyday motherhood journey is.
One way I do that is through photography. My heart is to help you learn how to take images you are in love with, that have value, and that tell your family’s story.
Another way I do this is by helping moms pursue radical, abundant motherhood through intentional minimalism. It’s not about a rigid set of rules, it’s about making room for what truly matters.
Over the past few years I’ve taught myself how to use my camera + smartphone to take pictures of our everyday.
On April 30th, 2017, I took my first picture of our newborn rainbow baby.
My eyes filled with tears and I had this overwhelming feeling that every picture I had ever taken was in preparation for this – for him. He is what this creative part of my heart was made for. You can read more of my ‘why’ here: How losing our baby changed my life, my motherhood, and my lens.
I want this for you. My heart is for you to have beautiful images of your babies to look back on so you can step into those moments over and over again & someday show your kids the story of their childhood.
I call myself an “intentional minimalist” because I don’t like to be legalistic about it. I just don’t want clutter to take away from what I care about most - my family. I’m also the messiest person you’ll ever meet, so minimalism has been a necessary game changer for me ;)
I aim to simplify my life so that I have more time for what’s truly important. I love simple rhythms and routines. They have made my motherhood so much sweeter and a lot less stressful.

More about me
We live in the woods on some land in a little house my husband and I built ourselves in 2016. It has an upstairs loft for my husband and I and one bedroom downstairs that our kids share. It makes for pretty simple living and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
If it weren’t for Target I’d never leave my house, I’m definitely an introvert. Im a runner – I ran in college and now I love doing street races and stroller runs. I have the taste buds of a six year old and I would eat chicken nuggets for every meal if it weren’t a bad example to my kids.
I love to be creative but I struggle with confidence. If you ever can’t find me, I’m either playing blocks on the floor with my kids or I’m outside soaking up the sunshine.
I mean it when I say I want to know you and I hope you’ll introduce yourself by emailing hello[at]jessiemartin[dot]com or over on Instagram. If you’re here for the photography tips, which I hope you are, I created a free guide just for you!
